Jayne Ann Krentz (Amanda Quick, Jayne Castle)
What do I know about Jayne Ann Krentz?
Not much besides the fact that I consider her one of the best romance writers around, an author who writes consistently good books under each of her pseudonyms. You pick up a book by Jayne Krentz and you know what you'll get--a wonderfully thrilling, sexy story written like no one else.
I do know that Jayne Krentz has quite a few pseudonyms, including: Jayne Castle and Amanda Quick (my favorite), then some older ones that she no longer uses: Amanda Glass, Jayne Bentley, and Stephanie James (some of the titles she wrote under this name have recently been re-released, btw).
Jayne Krentz has a fabulously unique voice and style. I feel certain that I could tell immediately if she was the author of a story without knowing ahead of time. In fact, that's how I discovered her Amanda Quick books. I picked one up, started reading, and loved it, but I felt like the writing was so familiar that I ought to have read other books by Quick. Once I read the backcover copy, I realized immediately why the writing was so familiar. Since then I have just about devoured the rest of her Amanda Quick books. I had shipments coming from Amazon.com every time I turned around (fortunately, my hubby isn't home to see the arriving mail during the day!) I finally finished all of them, and now I regularly go back to reread my favorites: Ravished, Rendevous, Deception, Mischief, and Dangerous.
According to the inside back cover copy of her books, she's married and lives in the Pacific Northwest. Her hubby's name is Frank.
